About

TORU Rail is a Swedish company operating in the Nordics, offering innovative digital brake-testing equipment and cloud services for the railway industry.

We combine advanced technology and industry experience to help workshops work efficiently and stay compliant.

Bringing brake testing into the digital era

TORU Rail builds on over two decades of experience from one of Sweden’s largest maintenance organizations, where our engineers developed practical brake-testing tools for daily use in workshops and in the field. The results led to a specialized competence within Euromaint Rail, shaped by close cooperation with teams that relied on the equipment.

In 2024, we formalized TORU Rail as a standalone company to continue this development with full focus. The same engineers now advance the next generation of systems, combining our heritage with modern digital capabilities. TORU Rail remains an engineering-driven company dedicated to precise, durable tools that fit real workshop routines.

Our history

First mechanical brake tester

2000

Developed the first mechanical tester based on a modified locomotive brake valve to perform key functional tests using brake force.

2003

Started development of a portable electronic version, the first prototype built in a wooden case focused on force measurement only.

2005

After initial testing, C-pressure measurement capability was added, and it was decided to equip every company field vehicle with TORU units.

Toru V2

2007

The launch of TORU Field V2 with integrated display, push-button controls, and electro-hydraulic force sensors.

Winter testing of TORU V2

2007

TORU Field V2 underwent substantial field validation on 75 wagons in winter conditions.

2009

Introduced TORU Field V3 with touchscreen interface, extended measurement channels (Cv, C1–C4, T1), and automatic protocol transfer.

2009

Launched the first version of TORU Workshop for improved convenience and full-scale brake testing in a workshop environment.

2019

Introduced the new generation TORU Pro Workshop with improved filtration, side-mounted hose holders, upgraded industrial display, and a second T-pressure.

2022

TORU Pro Field was released with the same testing range as the new workshop version, improved filtration, and integrated sensors in a compact unit.

2024

Launched TORU Cloud, a platform connecting all TORU Pro units for secure data handling, automatic report archiving, and maintenance traceability.

Our culture is built on practical innovation, care for each other, and a commitment to supporting customers with reliable, long-term solutions.

Practical innovation

We develop new solutions with a clear purpose: to make brake testing more precise, efficient, and reliable. Innovation is not a slogan for us, but the result of continuous engineering work rooted in real maintenance needs.
